Joyce is a Certified Financial Planner
and has specialized in the field of
divorce financial planning
(Financial Divorce Specialist).
She trained under Carol Ann
Wilson and was one of the
first in Canada to receive the
designation. Joyce has been trained
in the financial and tax issues of
divorce. Joyce works with divorcing
couples or spouses and their
lawyer(s) to help them make an
informed decision. Joyce has
extensive training in Collaborative
divorce and works with couples,
lawyers, and therapists, to provide
an unbiased assessment of their
finances and help them understand
their settlement scenarios. Joyce is a
guest lecturer at the University of
Ottawa Faculty of Law (CFL course)
and is a trainer at Interdisciplinary
collaborative practice workshops.
She is the current treasurer of
Collaborative Practice Ottawa and
serves on the Board of Directors of
the Ontario Collaborative Law
Federation (OCLF).
The collaborative approach gives a
